Frequently asked questions
What distance for a first trail?
Between 20 and 40 km is ideal for a first trail. Choose a race with less than 1,500 m of elevation gain. The Trail de la Montagne de Reims (35 km, 800 D+) or the Trail de la Cote d'Opale (28 km) are perfect for beginners.
How do I train for a first trail?
Plan 8 to 12 weeks of preparation. Alternate long runs (2h+), elevation sessions and recovery jogs. Run on varied terrain: paths, forests, trails. The key is getting your body used to natural ground.
What gear for a first trail?
The essentials: trail shoes with good grip, a hydration pack (vest type), a lightweight windbreaker, and a charged phone. No need for poles on a short trail.
