Ultra Trail Côte d'Azur Mercantour

Between the Mediterranean coast and the peaks of Mercantour, UTCAM draws a rare vertical line. The start from Saint-Martin-Vésubie drops immediately into the high alpine terrain of the Alpes-Maritimes, with ridgelines brushing 3,000 meters and technical passages above the Nice valleys. The 120 kilometers and 7,800 meters of positive elevation form a punishing cumulative effort — legs burn long before the coastal light reappears on the horizon.

The Mercantour massif delivers exceptional mineral terrain: glacial lakes, pale granite slabs, stripped high-altitude meadows. Weather shifts fast between Mediterranean heat and alpine cold. The out-and-back profile concentrates difficulties at altitude and demands precise fueling management. Solo format, semi-autonomous, with strict cut-offs.

Ultra Trail Côte d'Azur Mercantour is a 120 km trail race with 7,800 m of elevation gain, located in Saint-Martin-Vésubie, Alpes-Maritimes. The next edition is scheduled for 4 July 2026.
